Due to the overwhelming popularity and interest in archery for youths, students must pre-register and submit payments (by designated deadlines) to hold their place on the class rosters. If you are interested in basic archery classes  please complete the registration form below and press the submit query button.  Class size is limited, and to prevent "no-shows" you must enroll by submitting your payment prior to the start of class, no exceptions. Payment options are: Personal check which must be received 10 days prior to the start of class, or paying cash on the morning of instruction.  Please make checks payable to Wilderness JOAD, 227 Montrose Drive, Folsom, CA. 95630

Beginners between 8 and 18 years of age are welcomed. With younger archers it is extrememly critical that they have good listening skills and can follow basic instructions. All of our classes are taught by volunteer NAA certified Instructors. The student to instructor ratio is 5:1. Students may be removed from sessions due to their inability fo focus and follow directions and safety rules. Our goal is for all interested children to have the opportunity to try archery, have fun and learn the basic fundamentals and shooting techniques of Recurve and Compound Bows in a safe environment. All necessary equipment is available and limited for the students to use or you may bring your own.

The cost is $45.00/per session (3 hours of instruction) and pre-registration is required for all students. Walk-in students are not allowed.

All interested students must enroll in the Introduction to Archery and Safety. This class teaches range rules, proper bow handling, archery form, utilizing the skills and drills handbook. Students will learn how to score, as well as how to assemble and disassemble a bow.

Class will be held on Sunday's from 8:45am - 12:00pm, at the Rocklin indoor range. These classes are for students between the age of 8- 18 years of age.  Please arrive on time for equipment fitting.  Lateness is not acceptable as it is disruptive to the other students. We do not have the ability to provide make-up time if your child is late.  (If we have less than 3 students registered for a class, it will be cancelled until we have a minimum of 5). We are renting space at the archery range, it does not belong to us.

REFUNDS: Class fees will ONLY be refunded if we are notified of cancellation no later than 5 days prior to the start of the first class.

Safety Notice
When safety rules are not followed, archery can be dangerous. Although injuries are rare, they still can happen. If you wish to have your child participate in this program, you must be aware of the dangers of a shooting sport. Shooting archery in our program will be conducted under the course supervision of approved N.A.A. Certified Level II Instructor(s) who will minimize all possible dangers. Do we have your permission to render basic first aid, should the need arise?

In order to demonstrate or show your child how to accomplish the proper bow arm position, back tension, stance, release, etc., sometimes the instructor may need to touch arms, shoulders, neck, head, hands, feet and back to help place them into the correct shooting position. Do you object to your child being touched within these parameters?

Do we have permission to place your child's photo and name on the club website, newspaper, brochure or photo album

Instructor has the right to refuse any student, parent or guardian who does not follow the Archery Range Rules and does not conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. Archery Range Rules are attached below for your review and to discuss with your child.
