Archery Summer Camp Program
Wilderness Golden State JOAD will be conducting an Archery Summer Camp program at Discovery Park, in Sacramento. The program will be held on Saturday's for four (4) consecutive weeks. Summer camp will operate from 8:15am-10:00am, with the first class starting on August 2nd and ending on August 23rd, 2008

The Archery Summer Camp program provides an opportunity for kids who have never shot a bow as well as those who already know how, to earn summer camp pins and certificates. The shooting distance for summer camp will be 10 meters for all archers on an 80cm target face. The awards earned are pins shaped like arrows, in five different colors, which represent the colors on the target face and must be earned in order, White, Black, Blue, Red and Gold.

The age requirement for summer camp are 8  to 17 years. The instructor to student ratio shall not exceed 1:5

CAMP ARCHERS MUST HAVE GOOD LISTENING SKILLS, THE ABILITY TO FOCUS AND FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS GIVEN BY THE INSTRUCTORS TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF ALL ARCHERS, SPECTATORS AND INSTRUCTORS.

Note: Only Compound, Longbow and Recurve bows are acceptable. NO CROSSBOWS!

Early Registration: Fee is $100.00 (four 1.5 hour sessions) for completed registration forms and payments received by July 12th.

Late Registration: Fee is $150.00

The cost will cover the summer camp T-shirt, camp ins, pin holder and certificates. All necessary equipment is provided as well. If you have your own equipments to use that is fine. Instructors will verify it is appropriate before shooting,

I  (parent's name), in consideration of Wilderness Golden State JOAD and this club/range permit  (student's name) to participate in there summer camp program and do hereby consent to such participation and in the event of injury or accident do hereby release, discharge and absolve Wilderness Golden State JOAD, the program volunteers leaders and coaches from any and all liability of responsibility therefore.

Safety Notice: When safety rules are not followed, archery can be dangerous. Although injuries are rare, they still can happen. If you wish to have your child participate in this program, you must be aware of the dangers of a shooting sport. Shooting archery in our program will be conducted under the course supervision of approved N.A.A. Certified Level II and Level I Instructor(s) who will minimize all possible dangers. Do we have your permission to render basic first aid, should the need arise?  Yes No

In order to demonstrate or to show your child how to accomplish the proper bow arm position, back tension, stance, release, etc., sometimes the instructor may need to touch arms, shoulders, neck, head, hands, feet, hips and back to help place them into the correct shooting position. Do you object to your child being touched within these parameters?

Instructor has the right to refuse any student, parent or guardian who does not follow the Archery Range Rules and does not conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. Archery Range Rules will be handed our for your review and to discuss with your child on the first day of class. NO FOUL LAUGUAGE WILL BE TOLERATED!
